Busan trip: First day

So yesterday was the first day of my Busan adventure. There will be lots of pictures coming later.

So after we found the hostel we were staying out we set out for the fish market.  We walked around and took a look around at all the different types of fish on offer.  One of my friends along for the trip said he thought there were 100 species of fish on offer there.

Or as I put it, “If it comes out of the ocean, it’s for sale here.”

Then we went to a restaurant attached to the fish market.  We got an amazing spread of sashimi, sushi, scallops, muscles, fish soup, and two cooked white fish.

They were all absoulutely delicious.  I’m not a huge seafood person and these were just amazingly delicious.  (A full review is coming)

After that we walked through one of the market districts that had everything you could want for sale.  Lots of trendy shops and Western bussinesses.  This was on our way to Busan tower.  This several hundred meter tall tower has a breathtaking view of the city and the port oceanfront.  I put a 500 won coin in the binoculars and was able to look down into the city and  see brandnames on shipping containers.

Next we went to one of Busan’s nightlife district’s and went to a few bars.  We ended up at an amazing sports bar called The Dugout.  This place was amazing.  (review pending)  The owner took our order and spoke English very well.  He even brought us out a drink he was experimenting with to share( a peach Margarita).  That was awesome.

We’re about to start day #2 in Busan with a trip to the beach and an oceanside temple.
